The purpose of Atheistic Forum is to communicate an atheistic perspective in scientific, philosophical, social and other contexts where AF finds it to be of relevance. AF wants to be a mouthpiece and a forum for atheists that encourages networking, facilitates debate, and be a source of knowledge and reason.
To this end AF will offer:
- Relevant news from around the globe.
- Essays, comments and opinions from atheists.
- A community maintained encyclopedia that can serve as non-religious knowledge resource.
- A debate forum where various topics can be discussed and where atheists can meet.
AF is critical towards religion and is opposed to:
- National preferential treatment of religious communities and state approval of any religion.
- The notion that religion or the religious speaks with special authority in questions of morality, ethics or human conditions.
- Religion that holds the human being or groups of people in contempt.
- Religion that is presented as something more than a human expression.
Atheistic Forum stands for a worldview that is founded in scientific insight and with the human being as the only point of reference for morality, ethics and the individual rights to freedom – including the right to be free from religious influence.
